What’s under this?
enhance
Enhance, but from further away and with more bush
S orry for the crap pics, my curiosity didn’t warrant an actual stop in my ride! Anyways, I rolled past a junkyard / shop that had a couple neat hulks slowly rusting away and saw this interestingly proportioned tarp. Maybe a 60s Renault or something of that era? Definitely quirky!
Also nabbed this pic of a poor beetle.
now with more bug
And finally, here’s a shot of some rusty tubes with some purple painted tubes in front of them!
Pictured: a series of tubes.

Looks like a Beetle from this angle but. . .
I think I can even see the VW logo and central chrome but. . .
Wheelbase looks just about right for a Citroen DS. Too short for a rear engined Renault. DS with a Beetle front clip? You monsters!

Looking at it more, that is definitely a DS just with some weird ruffles in the cover.

Not a DS, way too tall. Front headlight ‘humps’ in the tarp aren’t in the right place.

Is this shop on Google Streetview?

I thought about that but I’ve never seen one so maybe they are just differently proportioned than I thought. It is pretty close though in overall shape.
Perhaps a Dauphine?
I don't think that is quite it based on the sharp transition to a slant from the roofline. Very close.

Ok, are you sure?
Ok maybe not. I'm stumped.

That DS in your pic is at maximum suspension height setting. If they are at rest and turned off, the suspension settles to it’s lowest setting, so it’s way too high.
Perhaps it’s a Panhard?

Citroen DS?

Front doesn’t project enough. The headlights appear to have been designed for covers but are US spe c uncovered, leaving an indention, unless it just has none. Panhard is close but not quite.

Wait a minute
Maybe. It does actually seem to have close set round headlights.

There were also different models of Panhard:
That one I linked above is a Dyna Z, could also be a PL17?

Subaru 360?

I’m fairly sure this is the place... the shop itself doesn’t appear to be on google maps but I can see the decrepit blue beetle! It’s the place at the north end of the street adjacent to the bike path.

I was thinking DS for a moment, but it is way too tall, and honestly looks a bit too short as well.

I think it’s a bit too short, and sitting too high to be a DS.

Possibly, hadn’t considered that one.

That’s something I haven’t seen before.

Not sure, very tricky....it would never just be another Beetle convertible, would it...?
